How were decisions made, who made them?
Most places through Rome were ruled by one single person. Although most great rulers would have advisors to help them make the decisions. Rulers could dismiss an advisor if they had their own ideas or if they were gaining too much power they could even have them murdered. There used to be a governing body of the most important and upper class families who would make decision until Augustus the first emperor of Rome came and took control and made the decisions and laws himself with high advisors for assistance.

How did they get to their position of power?
You could become the king of Rome if you were the son of a king or a relative of the king and the other relatives died.There are other ways of becoming king however, You see when the king dies and he doesn’t have a son or other relatives to take his place then there will be a senate who's task was to find a new king.
