Equality
Did men and women have equal rights and responsibilities?
Considered to nowadays the men and women's rights were actually quite equal, However they were still living in a male dominant world. For example women could not become the king or be elected or vote. A woman also couldn’t join the army or inherit much money from her father or from her husband if they divorced. But despite all of these restrictions for the Roman women they’re rights are actually considered rather equal and they are almost better then the rights in some countries today. As for they were not restricted to be house slaves although it was preffered there was nothing stopping them from getting a job of thier own.
